Hey i tried using my voodoo 3 as a dvd decoder, with PowerDVD3, and it will only use software mode? can anyone help, will the voodoo3 work for this, i think the specs said it will?

<< so i need a decoder card... will this work in conjunction w/ my voodoo 3? >>

You should only need a decoder if you have an older system, less than 500Mhz. I'm currently using a Voodoo3 with 700Mhz Duron with no problems, quality is excellent.

Yep, a V3 will work for playing DVD's with a software decoder. Mine worked great doing that in a K6-2 350 system, so anything above 400MHz, and you should not need a hardware decoder. Software will work fine.

ok thanks guys, i will use my 750, i was using a 200 MMX, i thought the v3 3k would do the hardware accl, but nope.
