Hmm. Funny that you mention that. Please tell more. I Have one in my kids PC (V3 3K PCI) that will do it once in awhile. 800 x 600 shakes like mad, then will stop. 640 x 480 is cool. Its a crappy old MAG 15". I thought the monitor was on the way out. My other kids PC has a V3 2K PCI and a NEC 15". It doesn't do it. I have a bunch of friends that have V3's running newest drivers, none of them have mentioned it (I'm tech support for them so I would have heard about it!). Must be certain combination that causes it.

Well, I am pretty sure it is the drivers I am using, if I install old drivers it goes away. just started to do this, I have been using the new drivers for about 3 weeks..... and this is the first I noticed.... but this is also about the first time I have sat and pl ayed games all day. (wife is gone)

and I just plugged in a new side winder 2..... um. maybe I will unhook that and see if that does it..... since I just put it in about the same time this started happening.....

I noticed it too, I had to up the refresh rate to 85 MHz to get it to stop . I thought maybe it was the vid card going bad since it had been OC?ed since I got it so I picked up a V5500, same thing when the refresh rate is under 85 MHz. I?m using a Viewsonic PF790and currently running 1280x1024 @ 85Mhz and 16 bit color. I figured is must be something with the Voodoo cards and AG based monitors

BWT I lent the V3 to a friend that has an old Mag 15" monitor on his kids PC and it?s fine.

currently it is not shaking...... I will have to try to up the refrest rate, but I'm not sure if this monitor can handle that high of a refresh rate... I'm running at 1021x768 on a sylvaniz F72...... I'll give it a whirl..... when it happens again though........ thanks!

I've seen similar things happen on a Dell PC at work. You might want to make sure that you have a monitor selected under your display properties. Oftimes, if it says "unknown" you can run into some weird problems.

Display properties --> Advanced--> Monitor Tab

This is strange. I have 2 PC's with V3's in them (my kids PC's). One is a V3 2K on a NEC monitor, the other a V3 3K on a Mag monitor. Both are shadow mask monitors, both are PCI cards. One does it, the other doesn't. I have the proper monitor model selected on both. Later, I'm going to switch monitors and see if it follows.

the monitor is selected correctly for my computer. Re-installed using older vd3 drivers. So far no shakes.... let ya know if it keeps up with the good performance.

In my case it's the monitor. That old POS MAG gave it up. It wont work on either of the PCs at all. The display may come on for a split second, then turns to a vertical line and is gone. The NEC works fine on either PC. Oh well, off to find a new monitor.
