Yea, try VirtualDub. You can use the Divx 3.11a or 4.12, and perhaps MS mpeg4v1 and 2, If your card has working VFW drivers and your system is powerful enough. VirtualDub also supports Mpeg-1, so you can use it to encode AVI and Mpeg-1 that you capture.
