Voodoo 3 2000 running Direct 3D????

I have recently purchased NBA Live 2001 which needs to run in direct 3d. Supposedly teh voodoo cards will. This card is even listed in the readme file for the game. When I start it, the game runs very choppy. There are lines through all the players and all over the court. I have installed teh latest drivers, close all background programs. I contacted 3dfx, or what is left of them, and they are zero help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

What resolution are you running at? Try it at 800x600 first. Also, check to see if your desktop is set to 16 bit or 32 bit color. The voodoo3 does 32 bit 2d, but has on a few games defaulted to 32 bit software rendering if my desktop was in 32 bit color.

I also have a Voodoo 3 2000 AGP, but a Thunderbird 700. It runs kinda smooth on my machine, also latest drivers installed. I run it at 1024x768, with the crowd and bench animation turned off. What are that for lines? Do you have a screenshot?

It wont run in glide that I can find. My resolution is 800X600 and 16 bit color. I am going to try and put it at a higher resolution tonight. The lines are weird. It looks like someone took scissors to the screen.

aaaaahhhh, I know what you mean with these lines. Do you have the card overclocked? I also had these issues with NBA Live 2000. It came, went away, came, went away. It wasn't really annoying.

The card is not overclocked and the lines are always there. I wich they would go away sometimes. Maybe I need to overclock it and see what it does. What do you think??

hhmmmm, dunno. Don't guess this would be the right way 😉 Do you have good cooling? Maybe it's a little overheating?

you have to cool voodoo3s? i just dropped it in and it functions very well (excpet for counterstrike smoke). mine has a large LARGE heatsink on it. thats it.

OK, according to 3dfx it could be a lighting or lightning problem. hard to understand him. He wants me to adjust my gamma settings, and possibly d/l powerstrip. Any info on what the problem is, and what I am doing these things for??
