I bought a used voodoo 2 and the guy forgot to put the cable in the box. Does this render the card useless? What does the cable do?
Thanks

The cable passes the 2d video signal of your 2d card through the Voodoo2 card and out to your monitor. You'll have to manually switch the monitor cable to the Voodoo2 when you want to use it, and back to your 2d card when you're not.

Remember, the Voodoo2 is a 3d only card, it cannot do 2d.

search around for recent voodoo2 posts here...last time i checked, you can just pick up a normal run-of-the-mill monitor cable to replace the missing cable....

and like was already said, YES, you need it for the card to do it's job
