Voodoo 1 drivers for Windows XP x64.

i used to hate my voodoo2 ... just because it needed like special drivers for every game i played 🙁

*waits for Doom 1 x64 so the Voodoo 1 can blast that baby out like theres no tomorrow*

While I find it impressive he got that to work, I cant help but wonder how this could be useful... ever.

people climb mountains because they are there and they can; I would guess this is along the same lines.

Dang, those are some diehard 3dfx fanboys if they still use one of those things and run XP64.........

hehe, yup. My Voodoo 5 5500 worked fine in WinXP due to the fanboys who continued writing Drivers for it. Just more proof to the awesomeness of the Legend of 3DFX. 🙂

Wouldn't one do better with a wrapper and just about any dumpster card from the last decade? I mean the nerdy thrill at actually getting the original hardware running has got to wear off as soon as you witness the poor performance and quality. At least with a wrapper on any semi-modern card the performance would not be an issue and indeed the quality would be better even given the limits of the original renderer; no Blur-O-Vision VGA pass-through at the very least... unless that is seen as a "plus" for authenticity 😉

Yes the nostolgia wears off pretty quick. My Voodoo 3 picture quality is just as clear as any card, though. Wrappers are nice for a few games.

An XP64 driver seems kind of useless anyway though since there are quite a few games that only run on Windows 98. This also defeats wrappers. What are you, like the Link 19 of 3Dfx? 😛
