Who has it? Like it? I am thinking about getting it.

Can you accept collect calls? Not a big concern but
just something I'd like to know

Also anyone want to be a referral? I'm not sure what their
system is for referrals but I know they got one.

it isn't available in my area yet

somebody posted about a similar service a week or two ago, it actually sounded even better than vonage

i forget the name of it, do a search for vonage and i am sure you could find the thread

WOW

packet8 seems AWESOME.

I already paid for Vonage tho. :( i've been using for about 6 months now, so i don't have that much to complain about. just my savings on calls to S. Korea alone have made the $25.99 / month i've been paying worthwhile (well thats not including charges for calls to korea, but believe me, they were significantly less than i was paying with anyone else).

nowadays tho, there seems to be lots of plans that are as cheap.

my wife finds virtually no difference between verizon and vonage when calling korea.

to be honest, since i rarely max the 500 long distance minutes / month i've got and since i'm happy with the service, i'm not sure it's worth the $5.00 month to switch.

If you're only going to save $5/mo I wouldn't switch since Vonage is bigger and more established than Packet8 is.

If it were $15/mo or more then I'd consider switching but $5 is only 1 Quizno's sub ;)

i'm using the vonage as my business line. we are moving on the 23rd so i'm thinking instead of paying Verizon for basic phone service or verizon for the $49.00 complete package thing, why not sign up with packet8 for my home line.

i'll probably do it.

If we had cable internet I'd sign up for Vonage.

Plus how cool is it being able to setup your account in the USA, then move to another country (e.g. Australia) plug in the ethernet adapter, hook up a phone ... now you're able to accept US dialed calls IN AUSTRALIA!!!

If we ever move to Australia that's what I plan on doing, then my friends and family can call us down under with a local 503 Oregon call ;)

for me, i'm on the road a lot. if i have to stay in a hotel for a week or so, i can just take my router with me and all my clients can reach me at the same number. HOW Cool is that?

plus i only have to pay the hotel broadband fees (which i would be paying for anyway) and i don' t have to pay hotel outrageous phone bills.
