Vonage routers

I already have a DSL modem and G wireless router. I'm thinking about getting the free rotuer they give you, but I don't know if I want 3 devices between me and the internet. Is there any advantage to using the Vonage wireless router or is there no real problem with using the free one and then my wireless router?

One advantage:
You can talk on the phone!

The router they send you is the device that includes the phone ports. So you gotta use it. It's just basically a linksys router+3 port switch (+2 phone ports).

I have a wireless G as well. I put my two computers and the wireless G on the three ports of the linksys they send you. I then hang wireless devices and one wired device (my tivo) off the Wireless G.

Unless you ask for two lines it will only use one phone port. That's the one you plug into a jack in your house once you disconnect the phone line at your demark outside.

You're gonna dig vonage by the way. If you use outlook be sure to snag the click-to-call feature for your contacts.

PM me if you have any other questions.

Their router usually has QoS (quality of service) whic his MUST if you are using VoIP and any other internet services (http, ftp etc)
