Vonage question

I am still perusing options for a phone. I am thinking of either Tracfone, Boost, or Vonage but my question is: can Vonage be used as a travelling phone or just for a house? Thanks.

As long as there's an Ethernet high speed connection where you're at, you can plug in the Vonage adapter and connect it to a regular phone.

But if you're asking if it can be used like a cell phone, the answer is no.

You can pay an extra $5/month for an Internet version of it. When you call from your comp it'll show up as your home phone number, and if you happen to be connected and the software is on, it'll ring when people call you, otherwise go to your voicemail. I have mine forwarded to my Sprint phone when I travel, so if people call me I still get the call.

None of the other options you mentioned are worth it, trust me.

That's all I needed to know. Sphexi are you saying tracfone isn't worth it? I was looking for a cell phone type dealie without having to get locked into a stupid plan. Thanks again.

yea, vonage isnt a cell phone so it wouldnt work for you...

The prepaid cell phones can be very good for people on a budget, who don't want credit checks, or hate monthly plans/contracts...

Ask a vonage rep about the wifi phone for their service

I know all about it. My company's getting training from Cisco pretty quick here to be able to install and service Cisco's VOIP hardware to the military including wifi VOIP handsets.

Im still confused... Are you looking for a home phone or a cell phone?
