So this morning, I head downstairs to the grocery store to get a pack of smokes.

In the corner I see, yeah... vomit. (This isn't the first time.)

Well, my e-mail to the "representative" in our building explains the rest. BTW she lives in the same building.

Jane (not her real name),

I hate to bother you but there is a matter to which I think I need to bring to your attention.

I attempted to notify their "sister company" first, by walking across the street to their sales office.

I spoke to (let's call her Patty) and our conversation went something like this:

Me: "Hello. I'm a resident at the xxx. There is vomit in the elevator. It has been there since this morning and it is disgusting and a health hazard."

Patty: "Did you call Jane?"

Me: "Uhhh...No. I'm bringing it to your attention..."

Patty: "Well, I'm not her secretary so you'll need to call her."

Please see attachment. Evidently someone put a sign to help maintenance locate it.

Thanks,

cherrytwist

If you really want to see it...

edit:

We're done with this place.

The elevator has been problematic since we moved in (July).

It's gotten signifcantly worse. This month so far (as of March 10th) it has been out of service at least 3 times (for ~12 hours each time).

I called the property manager and complained, telling her we wanted out of the lease.

She called back today indicating that if I can provide a note from my cardiologist (heart problem) that prevents me from using the stairs semi-routinely, the LLC will allow us to break the lease.

It's total BS that I have to provide anything, but if it works, who cares.

Now it's time to go apartment hunting...

Nice building. Im not sure of the cost of living difference, but a place like that in boston would be way over double what youre paying depending on the location.

Yeah the building is great but the management sucks ass.

Our A/C went out for 5 days in August.

The elevator periodically quits working.

We love living downtown but could do without the headaches.

Is that place expensive for downtown STL? Well, shit if thats downtown, a place like that in downtown boston would actually be well over $2,500 for the "crappiest" (;)) one. So, maybe more like triple. :Q Fuck, i hate the rents here... :( If it makes you feel any better, my management company is composed of criminals--for real.

There is vomit in the elevators of my dorm 90% of the time after weekends, don't see where this is any big surprise to anyone.

The point is I don't live in a dorm.

They advertise this place as "luxury loft living". If I wanted vomit in my elevator, I would live in a dorm. I wouldn't mind living in a dorm, but being married and in my 30's would be kinda weird ;)

The bottom line is Patty should have called Jane and had a janitor on the spot. That is all that I was looking for.

But Patty was too busy shopping or whatever on the Intarweb to be hassled by some guy asking her to do her fvcking job.

When I saw the sign the first thing I thought was that is where I'm supposed to vomit.

You know, I might not want to clean it either, but truthfully, every person that seen it and let it lay their is lazy. Funny thing is, the OP spent more time trying to get someone else to clean it up then it would have taken to clean it up himself. Definately not a humble person.

20 minutes of cleaning up vomit is worth like 5 hours of trying to get someone else to do it. At least.

Humble? Maybe not.

Pissed off? Hell yes.

This is the 2nd occurance in the last month.

My wife cleaned it up the last time it happened.

At $1500/month, no thank you, I will not be cleaning up someone elses vomit. It's a health hazard (flu season, ya know) to boot.

My own or my wife's? I would have cleaned it up immediately.

THE VOMITER MUST BE EXPOSED AND SHAMED!!!

Ironically, they cleaned up the vomit today but left the sign.

edit: and I fixed your post. Some people (all adults here) need to learn some fvcking accountability.

WTF, they are lazy because they pay a considerable amount of money to live somewhere that is expected to be clean? You expect someone who pays 1500 dollars a month to clean puke up off the floor? You must be shrooming. If you are a tenant in a building, you pay the money to live there, and the maintenance crew is expected to keep the place in a nice, clean condition. Expecting tenants to clean up anything besides their own place is absurd.
