Volume Output Issues

I have my sound card output running through my main stereo system, via RCA cables (also goes to my PC speakers). For some reason, the volume is very low. I can listen to it, but I have to turn the volume on the stereo higher than I ever have to when listening to CD's, DVD's, etc. Any ideas why this is? I've cranked all the volumes in the Control Panel=>Sound. I can't find any volume control that's only for the sound card.

Hate to self bump (I know, this isn't the FS/T forum), but thought I would add that the card is a Chaintech AV-710, and I don't have the manual. Perhaps I should switch which output I use? Anyone happen to know which port is which; are the colors standard from card to card? My music sounds like crap.
