almost everytime i restart the volume icon doesnt load, but the box is checked in the audio properties. now when i uncheck,apply,recheck,apply again, it goes there fine.

it did this on old pc, i just got new everything and did a windows repair install. what settings or stuff could be affecting the system tray or whatever

I've seen this once before on a system loaded with spyware and viruses. Once I cleaned it all up, the slider was restored and remained.
