Volume Control won't stick in the system tray

You know, that little speaker icon. Everytime I check the option in sounds/audio devices, it gets unchecked after I log off and log back in. Any solutions?
 
That's a pretty wierd problem. Are you an admin on the system? Also, what sound card? It might be a driver issue.
 
Hmm....about all I can say is that sucks.....I tend to have issues with (especially) Antivir always resetting itself to "hide when inactive" instead of always hide. And the volume will occassionally turn into a different little icon, I think the Live icon. Is the taskbar locked?
