volume control - advanced properties?

In Windows 2000, in Volume Control under options, you can turn on "Advanced Controls" where you can change other sound levels. For some reason I can't turn that option on, any ideas why? I am running an account with admin priveleges.

Some device drivers (such as for the Creative Vibra16) do not support Advanced Properties. Stupid, I know....which drivers are you using, and what card is it?
 
I have a TBS Montego, using the default drivers. I couldn't find the companies win2k ones anywhere, and the standard ones that come with Windows seemed fine, so I stuck with them.
