There will be varying opinions, but most people tend to give 1.50-1.55V as a relatively "safe" maximum, you're not really recommended to go above 1.55V for an overclock you'll be running for years. Especially if you can hit 2.9GHz at that voltage, I'd say it's worth it. Your temperatures are also not bad at all.
 
I've heard 1.50 for a DC chip 1.55-1.60 for a single core.

If you back off to 2.8 do you get a huge reduction in volts? The performance difference would be minimal but if you really save on the volts then maybe its worth it.
