Hi peps

I am messing around with my clock multipier and I am unsure of what to do with voltages?

There are two settings in Softmenu 3 : Core Voltage and I/O Voltage

What should I up these to?

At the mo they are : 1.700 and 3.30 respectivaly

My Thunderbird is 700MHz out the box and I tried 800 and it seems ok...I tried 900 and it would not even post, no beep nothing.

Does anyone here have a 700thunderbird overclocked? if so what did you get and what voltages did you use?

Thanks

I just tried this :

8.5x100 first off it would not boot. So I upped the Core Voltage one notch, it frooze during the boot to I upped it some more, eventully I got into win2k but it frooze just b4 the icons came up. That time the Core Voltage was at 1.8volts. I did not want to go any though as I am unsure.

But at 1.7volts 8x100 will run rock solid. Is this strange? I was kinda hoping for 900Mhz as I have read sotries of duron 600s going to 1gig!

Cooling is not a prob for me, I am well covered there.

Thankx

You probably have a green core TBird - bad overclocker :(
Boost your core voltage to the max (1.85v) and see how good it'll go from there.
You should be able to hit 900 with a good heatsink.

Thanks Viperoni!

I upped it to 1.85V and 9x100 and win2k gave blue screen with dodgy error message during boot, twice! So I returned it back to 8.5x100 and it was a ok! then I lower the volts to 1.825 and its fine so far!

Must be that Green Core. Are there any problems I should look out for???

My temps are 31/32 degrees Celcuis whilst doing my normal stuff. I hardly ever play games but I ran a continious cpu bench mark 20 times and it rose to 38degrees...so it seems ok?

Thing is this CPU was never unlocked?

I could have sworn when I orginally installed everything the Mulitplier Clock option was NOT accessable, and now it is???? and I have never done anyhting to l1 bridges!!

Wierd

Thanks again!!!
