voltage???

Hi, I have a TBRED B athlon 2100 and have run it at 1.8V before when trying to attain a stable 2.32ghz clock speed [boots then errors follow] and was wondering if passing the 1.8V mark is common and if its mostly safe. Im thinking of trying 1.825V, and if that doesnt totally stabilize it then Id try 1.850, so are these voltages relatively safe for a native 1.6V TBRED B cpu?

I'm running at 1.8v as well..but i got 2.94G only anyway,i'd say it can lasts u for at least 1yr ++,juz keep monitoring ur temp..

So if I want this to least 3years then 1.8 isnt good? It seems like it really kills its lifespan...

well i dont think you will keep that cpu for more then 3 years as your main box.
so overclock at will.

i am currently running my 2100 at 2.3Ghz@1.8v and idling at 40c. I couldnt get my system to run
stable at 2.4 unless i set it to 1.9v at 42c. So what you really need to do is to set your voltage no higher
then 1.875 and keep an eye on the temp. if it goes higher then what you feel comfortable with
then set it a bit lower accordingly to your overclock. that should be where your cpu will be most
stable. so the key here is the temperature.

assuming you have really good cooling
going to 1.8v should be safe on these .13 chips
1.825 ain't much
1.85 is prob the max i would go on these suckers
i fryed one at 1.86
of course i had it up to 2.15
but i ran a 2400+ at 2.05 and it went out on me
so i dropped the voltage on my 1700+ cause i knew it was the voltage that killed the 2400+
cause cooling wasn't an issue, i had sub zero water cooling
so i lost the extra 200-300mhz on the 1700+ to get the voltage back down to 1.86
this was cool enough to use my slk-800 easily at a low speed with less sound than even my antec psu
i had tryed even a 120mm + 80mm fan on my slk-800 and it wasn't able to cool my 1700+ at 2333mhz or above with the voltage it needed
i thought it would live but the damage was already done

lesson here anything between 1.86 and 2.15 can killed t-breds
i after thinking about the makeup of the chip i speculate that it is the reboots that do the damage
when the voltage is unapplyed and reapplyed

wept good luck i wouldn't go to 1.85 even if i was you unless maybe you got subzero cooling and a quality motherboard/psu

what a rush i wouldn't trade it for anything
cept maybe two more t-breds
