Up to 1.85V is fine for Barton on air, assuming the cooling is adequate, say Thermalright 700 or 800 with a decent fan.
Still I doubt you'll see 2500 MHz.

Actually I'm using a Volcano 12 and forced air induction through a tube from room temp air... I've had it stable up to 2563MHz, but I had to loosen my ram timings and the actual performance was worse. My stupid motherboard won't go above 214MHz bus stable, so I just leave it at 200 and 2-2-2 timings. I guess eventually I'll try bumping the voltage on the chipset, but I'm happy with it for now.

that's a monster overclock...i wouldn't worry about the voltage, it's not like you're going to want to still be running this chip in 5 years

Over 2500 on air? That is amazing overclock and I would take care of that chip, that is a rare find.
My XP 2500, the best one, makes about 2370 on 1.85V on air and not an inch more. I am switching to 64 so I don't care but I had no such a luck like you with XP 2500.

I think 1.825 with low temps is probably fine, but I wouldn't go any highier. Its not like your going to keep that chip for long are you?
