Voltage Questions

I recently updated my motherboard (Gigabyte 7VRX) to the latest bios but in order to get my memory to run at the most aggressive settings, and in order to make my machine run stably i had to crank the DDR voltage up to 2.7 (2.5 default) and the AGP voltage up from 1.5 to 1.6

When i tried to run it at default voltages it was crashing out of sandra memory bench as well as 3d Mark 2001 SE - It either crashed to desktop or the machine powered itself off and rebooted during the middle of a 3d Mark bench. With the increased voltages i havent had a single problem yet but my question is, is it safe to increase the voltages this much? I dont want to sit here paranoid that im going to burn the graphics or memory out lol 🙂

The machine ran fine under default voltages on the original bios it had when the board shipped but according to the benchmarks it wasnt as fast as its running now. The readme file for the lastest bios says they increased the 'Top Performance' option in the memory settings of the bios.

For reference i have an athlon 1800+ xp, 512 Corsair XMS 3000 CAS 2 memory module and a Gainward Geforce 3 Ti 200 128MB overclocked to Ti 500 stock speeds (240/500)

Also a final question, out of curiousity in the hardware monitor section of the bios it lists the information about what i believe they call the power rails? the 3 volt, 5 volt and 12 volt. Both my 3 and 12 volt reading show to be slightly over their rating, eg my 3 volt reads out @ 3.312 and my 12 volt @ 12.480, however my 5 volt only reads at 4.945

Is this significant? Seems like its so close to 5 it shouldnt matter but you never know, and besides i have had a rare problem in the past where occassionally my pc reboots itself but it happened so seldom i never really worried about it.

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Where is the voltage distributed?

12 volts for the disk drives im guessing?
3 volts for PCI slots?
