hello. this is my first post here but been lurking for awhile.

I just recently built a system and have been playing around with the settings. Here are the specs:

athlon xp-m 2200+ AQHYA stepping
512 corsair vs pc3200
Shuttle AN35N
Zalman 7000a-Cu
sapphire radeon 9000 pro (i know, but it was free)

I upgraded my mb BIOS to the lastest verison at Shuttle's website. In MBM, my voltage readings are not consistent to what i set in the BIOS. ex., right now, i'm running the thing on stock speed at 1.200 vcore in the bios. However, MBM says that it's averaging 1.35v.

I tried chaning the BIOS setting to 1.35V. I boot windows and it reads that it's averaging at around 1.55+V.

Is this a normal occurence? The reason why i'm asking is even when I set my CPU at 166x10 at 1.35V in the bios, it crashes when i'm playing games. STable for at least 4 hours in prime 95 though but i get high temps, around upper 40s idle and upper 50s on load. When I lower the vcore to 1.200 and average 1.35 according to the MBM sensors, my system is perfectly stable with temps never going above 40 even on load.

Well, for those of you who care....

I was able to fix it by reinstalling the heatsink and cpu. Also reapplied AS5 for added measure. It's finally reading the right voltage setting. My heatsink probably got bumped while I was messing around with the wires in the case.

Thanks for listening! :)

Hmm.. Pretty strange. I've an an35n-ultra (never flashed), it and MBM5 agree.

My NF7-S though undervolts according to MBM5. But only by .05v though.

The only shuttle forum I know of is over HERE, may wanna check if this normal, or indicates a voltage regulator problem with your mobo.
