Alright. My goal is to make a multimeter kind of thing.. that can measure the amount of electricity my computer consumes, could tell me the voltage, and how many amps being used at a specific.. time. (so... it's not over a period of time, just at a certain time.) where would i attach such a device.. if i were to mesure this sort of thing? would i have to open up my psu? (it's a 350 watt psu maybe that'll help answer the question!). Thanks.

this was already asked here a while ago... and the answer was that radio shack has these things you wrap around ONE of the wires from the wall, and it will tell you the current

much, much safer than a multimeter!

the voltage is 110-115 V, and you would have to hook up a voltmeter parallel to the wires, which would mean splicing them open.
Just live with the 5% uncertainty of the voltage, measure the current inductively (as mentioned by the previous poster), and live to laugh another day.
