Hello all, this is my first post anywhere, new to this. And Thank-you for the informative reading over time, it's been an education for me as well as being a blast. Yeah, a "blast", well I'm old.
My question then; according to DMI Explorer on the P4b266 with the latest Asus Probe, my supported core voltage is 1.4! I know the default core on the P4 1.6a is 1.5v, and the bios reflects this. Now if I increase the voltage above 1.5 in the bios by the smallest increament, since I don't want to raise the voltage at all, the DMI explorer will say that the supported core voltage is now 1.5. When I change it back in bios to 1.5 or even auto....DMI will once again say 1.4?
I've had Asus boards before...4 of them...I'm aware of Asus Probe issues. Also, I've just flashed the bios to 1006.002 with the warrior guy now on my boot screen....however, it did this before the flash. The board was delivered with the v1005 bios.
Any one else notice this with the P4 1.6a on the Asus P4b266? Do I have a reason to be concerned. I've just put this together a week ago, and running at 133FSB at whatever the default voltage really is. Having fun so far.
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thank-you all.
