I have a P4 1.8a and an abit BG7 motherboard. I'm running right now at 2.53ghz. To get it stable at this speed I had to set the voltage option to +15% (highest voltage setting the BG7 has.) In the bios it says vcore is at 1.68-1.69. When I boot into windows winbond hardware doctor shows 1.70-1.71.
I read the other thread titled "PIV 1.8A @2.6GHz Stable!!! Stock Cooling!!!" and I'm a little confused about motherboard over volting. Is my actual voltage higher than what winbond hardware doctor and the bios show or does it vary from mobo to mobo? From what I gather you don't want the vcore to go over 1.75v right? It looks like I'm below that but with this over volting thing I'm not sure. I was stable at 2.4ghz with the +10% voltage setting. Should I back it down or does it sound like I'm ok?
