Just upgraded from an OCZ Gladiator 3 to a Thermaltake Extreme 12 and it dropped my load temps on my XP-M from 58 to 42.5, idle went from 44 to 36, case temp stays at 27.

Just wanted to say this thing sounds like a vaccuum!! I have it plugged directly into the PSU and its spinning at ~5500RPM w/ 73CFM. Excellent cooler but LOUD!!

Oh yeah and I'm currently priming at 12x210 = 2.53, wish me luck! good so far

Ok, good luck. I got a controller for mine and it can be loud but it's pretty efficient too when slower.

Yeah a lot of overclockers tend to run their fans at the maximum possible speed. While this does provide for better cooling, a lot of ppl tend to forget that they don't necessarily NEED that much cooling. What I mean is, if you turn down your fan speed and your cpu temp goes up a few degrees, it's no big deal. For instance, you say your load temp is around 43 C. That's great but these cpu's are designed to handle temps in excess of 50-60C. So for some slower RPMs and a little higher CPU temp, you can still have a VERY stable system and have a lot less noise.

Right now I'm running everything at max fan RPM and its at a whoppin 55dB for the tornado on my SP-94. But my load temps don't exceed 36C.

Yeah you're totally right Connoisseur. I think it's more of the maximum overclock is in direct corolation to maximum cooling. But yeah, these Thermaltake's work amazing, and are basically the price, actually a few bucks less, than just an slk-900 w/o a fan, which is an excellent bargain!
