I imagine that was just simply amazing (to see in person), but at the same time the scene in Jurassic Park comes to mind..

It's all ooo's and aah's until someone dies (or something like that). Think if it had been much bigger, or they'd been much closer, etc etc, going from wow to, oh shit.

EDIT:..I found this site that has a NASA satellite view of before/after the explosion, also another video taken from a sailboat also near the area, http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...lcano-ashfall/

On that video from the sailboat you can clearly see groups of lights on the slopes below the cone. I hope those folks all got out.

Once Yellowstone erupts, half of the USA will be covered in ash, most of the crops in the USA will be gone, we'll all be fucked.
