Too late to change now, as I ordered one, but should it be OK for an overclocked XP 2500+ (mobile)?
(Arriving around the same time as the HS/F)

And also, it's my first time installing a heatsink using thermal paste (I put the stock HS/F on my 1900+, but used the pad it had by default), and I think I've got it sorted:
Remove pad from Volcano 7 base (using razorblade - possibly rubbing alcohol for residue).
Should I then use some fine grit sandpaper to ensure a smoothe surface? - What about the CPU? And what is lapping?
Very thin layer of AS3 on CPU core, thin layer on heatsink base.
Put CPU in socket.
Clip heatsink on, applying even pressure to ensure the core doesn't get cracked/chipped.

Hope it all worked and boot up!

Anything else I might need to do? Both the CPU and heatsink are fresh outta the box, should hopefully be here tomorrow or Friday!

I think it should be ok, but the Volcano 7+ would be better. If you're going to overclock I think you should get something better like the Volcano 12 or a Thermalright heatsink, you would get amazing results!
