ok im tasked with trying to setup a voip solution at work we have currently 6 analog phones, with 4 lines coming in split out into a pbx, what i would like to do is replace the setups with a voip solutuion and probbly use astrix as a pbx, however im really new to voip, what are some setups that you guys are using, or have implemented. also what are the telco requirements etc etc.

Asterisk is your cheapest most flexible solution here, yes.

You'll need minimal hardware to support 6 analog lines.

To really answer your question in full however, you should provide some more details as to your requirements. Are you replacing the existing analog phones with voip phones? Do you have remote employees you want to make part of the same PBX?

What is your driving need to switch to VoIP?
