Has anyone heard if any phones specifically for Voip are being created?

With Voip now i can't use my regular phones answering system to screen calls and hear the voice mails right away. I know its not a big deal for me, but for some older people dialing up a number to check voice mail doesnt workout, they also want to be able to screen the calls so they know who to pick up on.

Wouldn't the capability of using Caller ID and other features be dependent on the VoIP hardware that is switching the regular phone calls over to VoIP?

In other words, I would think that the main VoIP box and the phones themselves would have to be part of an overall system that supports certain features.

The features work correctly, like caller id and stuff most phone numbers will come up.

The Voice mail part is the thing that gets all messed up with the regular phone. If you use the built phone answering system it starts to record and you can screen the call but when you hang up something happens that the voip service starts to beeps and beeps and you have to physically have to press on and off to stop it.

If your not home then it will keep just beeping and no calls will get through.

so i had to turn off the built answering system on the phone and use the voice features provided by Voip which is to complicated for my grandmother plus you can't screen the calls besides caller id and thats if caller id works.

Who's your VOIP provider?

Mine is Lingo and I don't have any of those problems.
