I'm not sure if this should go here or in the Windows section, but here is my problem. I have a Linksys cit310 VOIP phone, I installed the drivers for it, I don't use SKYPE or Yahoo voice to chat with people, but I would like to use it for other things. This might be a dumb question, but is it possible to just use the handset as a mic? The unit has a handsfree, in my audio devices I have "USB handset" selected for the recording device. But I can't get it to record anything. I tried the basic Sound Recorder built into XP with no luck. I did try Yahoo's audio setup wizard and it wasn't detecting a microphone. I'm wondering if it will only work during a VOIP call or when voice chatting in Yahoo? I did read the manual but it doesn't say one way or the other.
I want to be able to use this to record hands free in Counter Strike and Audicity as I have no real micrphone.
What am I doing wrong here?
thanks...
