I was wondering if this solution are possible . I want to be able to establish a VoIp phone connect to my Avaya Phone Switch from a work site . The company offers access to their network for people who have high speed connection via at&t network cleint or windows vpn session . Also the phone system isnt located publicly that is why you need to have vpn access .
Now haveing a regular IP phone not a softphone could someone get this phone connect to the works phone system . Can you setup a win2k server box with 2 nic's turning it into a router with extentions of that vpn tunnel ? Or is the only way to get IP phone solution to get a softphone .
Remember we dont want to purchase high end hardware for these home offices . Just let them use there high speed connection , the vpn connection and retail brand router .
