VOIP issues in Battlefield 2

We share a cable connection, and if we are both playing on a map, only one of us can hear and send VOIP. I've tried opening all of the ports that are mentioned on the BF2 site, and still the same problem. I'm assuming that it's because of the shared connection, but could it be something else? Any ideas for a fix?
