I have an account with Vonage, and a US #. The internet is boardless right? I can still call "locally" from China and it should be okay right?

It may be difficult in China. The government has put so many restrictions on access you'd be lucky to check your email without being charged as a foreign spy.

yah :/

i've heard stories from my friends who have had people knocking on their doors because the govt doesn't like what they're saying!

do you think they're likely to block certain 'net access?

in some countires like China, whole blocks of the internet just dont "exist" to anyone one thier networks. its very possible your VOIP wont work, id imagine they wouldnt want dissidents talking for free to anyone across the globe.

I've talked to people in Chiina VoIP...

Sure helps to have cable or dsl.

If worse comes to worse you can use MSN messenger VOip..a headset is nice.
