Voice Nav, Yay or Nay?

If its Text to Speech, I wouldnt buy a GPS unit without it ( I recently just stuck my phone in my pocket with the GPS on and navigated to my destination by speech alone for the heck of it),

Voice recognition is hit or miss for input of data...

It's part of my On-Star package. But - I have never used it - never remember that it's there because I always know where I am going.

I am going back and forth between the Garmin 765T 785T and the 1690.

What's keeping you from getting the 885? The only thing I could find that the 1690 had the 885 doesn't is pedestrian nav.

If it were me, I would go with the 785. The 885 is a lot prettier though.

i've used mine, google does a fairly good job, i've also used voice search while driving to order pizza on the way home.
