I've been looking at some different possibilities for a small business phone system. One idea I had was building an entry-level desktop and loading a good voice mail software program on it with a couple modems. Have any of you tried something like this?
I am also looking into some hardware IP/PBX type solutions, however most of the IP/PBS type systems are based on multi-line and multi-extension setups. What I really need is 1 (maybe 2) lines with a auto attendant software program that allows the caller to push #1 for information on products, #2 for information on services, #3 to place an order, etc. Once they go through the prompts they would be able to leave a message or connect to an actual person (phone).
I'm just starting my research. Hopefully a couple of you have some experience with this and can give me a hand.
