voice input wow just wow

I'm really impressed with androids voice input. i'm on a droid areas running fro yo and just for the fun of that i figured i'd rate this post completely with voice input. I'm stopping just for punctuation but other then that this entire post is done through voice input. I'm pretty impressed vikas adhat add anything frankly it works really well. Better than working on the on screen keyboard.
So what does everyone else think about it?

even and 90 percent recognition ray internal sentence into something that illegible

the funniest thing is if you speak in a falsetto voice voice recognition is improved markedly

unfortunately when i do that in public people look at me very oddly

speaking in my normal voice recognition drop significantly

book a falsetto views on most spot on

yeah voice recognition pretty much sucks balls

No, it's a technology limitation.

Advanced Trick (Useless, but a little fun): If you really want a higher score, try reading in a falsetto voice -- most people get considerably better ratings this way. It doesn't do anything for improving your speech recognition, but it may show you that the Audio Setup Wizard can be manipulated.

I've used a VOIP voice recognition system for years, when all else failed, I have to use a falsetto voice to connect...

The voice input is fairly good, but not perfect. I wish they had some kind of option for a sentence-by-sentence input for voice, which would allow you to say a sentence, read it back to you, and then ask to append the sentence or discard it (in case there are multiple errors that make it illegible). It would be a lot more cumbersome for the user time-wise, but hopefully far more accurate for anyone that NEEDS to say something 99% correct but cannot use their hands, such as while driving.

For example, the other day my fiancée was at work and couldn't take a call, but needed me to bring her a few things and didn't have much time. I used voice recognition to send her a text message and said, "There's an accident in front of me, I'll be a little late" and it came out as something to the fact of "There's an accident front of me I'll be a little lake." It's funny, but I'm sure she would have been worried if I actually sent that.

I think the CPU power of ARM is the current limitation for better speech recognition on mobile devices. Simple one or two word commands, which even some dumb phones have, are fine but anything more complex gives it problems. While in general I think Joe User doesn't need increased power, either in a phone or computer, I think this is definitely one area that everyone can benefit from higher computing power. I for one will be ecstatic when we can get speech recognition on the level of Dragon Naturally Speaking on a phone. I don't know if the average user will be patient enough to "train" the software though.
