Voice communications over my lan

I have a windows "workgroup" lan and I was wondering if there was any free/inexpenive software to allow two nodes of the lan to communicate with voice, something like Skype, but without having to go through the Internet itself, just stay within the confines of the lan.

Gizmo and Voiperized go through the Internet, I believe. At least from reading info at their sites. I was thinking of having an intercom like functionality between two computers on a lan without being connected to the Internet.

Thanks! What I wound up doing is I used Skype on two of the machines on the network. It seems to be able to send most or even all of the voip packets directly through the local network without going through the Skype server (wherever that might be). I was just looking at the lights on the cable/dsl modem and those on my router. While I was talking to a local lan node only the router's lights were blinking. When I connect with someone outside of my LAN the cable/dsl modem lights are blinking away in synch with those of the router. Seems to work flawlesslly.
