Voice channel in music gets lost, muted...

Hi,

I don't know if it is the soundcard or PC at fault or how troubleshoot this. This happened once before and then corrected itself on it's own. Now it's back.

When i play any file, you can't hear the voice's, sometimes only background vocals or drums and the quality is horrible. Where has the voice channel gone?

I have a gametheater sound card, and I have gone into the sound properties and everything is set to full and unmuted... everything looks fine.

When this hapened before, I got rid of the old speakers, but now the newer speakers are experiencing the same problem so it's not there that the problem lies.


Any ideas?

Look for a karaoke setting somewhere. Your description matches karaoke mode well.

Yeah, does kinda sound like it.... but I've never instaled anything like or have seen something like that on my pc. And I do a lot of snooping, and audio recording so I where all the controls are.

Oh yes, and it's back to normal again without me doing anything. That's what bugs me, that it can just happen and I don't know what to fix.

well... just pay close attention to what programs your running when it happens. Although problems like this may seem random they almost never are. Make sure your audio drivers are up to date also.
