Obviously a little left-field and probably in the too-hard basket but I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with gpl voice biometrics on linux?
Basically I am thinking about it in relation to home automation.
For example, you have microphones setup in your house, connected to a linux server running something like http://mistral.univ-avignon.fr/ and you could speak commands, so basically what you are saying will authenticate you and tell the home automation system to do something.
Anybody ever played with this, any thoughts?
Issues I could see are to do with microphone placement and sensitivity, background noise and the system differentiating a command from normal conversation...
