Vodoo 5 5500 for $139!!!

People need to stop posting "absolute statements" such as "Radeon rules, Voodoo5 sucks" and "N blows M out of the water".. Don't none of you read reviews and benchmarks?..

Aern't the wickedGL drivers not 3dfx published? Couldn't 3rd party developers still put out drivers to contine support? $139 is damn good for such a high-end card, continued support or not.

1. This is not a very hot deal....the ati radeon for $88 at newegg is MUCH better than Voodoo5 in 32-bit quality and produces better images and you can just overclock to that of retail radeon.
2. In the future ATI will come out with better drivers for radeon that should give it a boost in fps.
3. The voodoo5 is only a good deal for those with oem machines that don't have agp port , but only pci.
4. PCI version of Voodoo5 is MUCH more, I think somewhere around $180.

I don't know why you would rather get the voodoo5 for more $$$ if you have an agp port because it BLOWS voodoo5 away, in 32-bit anyway.

come on everybody, let's leave the thread alone and not turn it into a debate (i know i'm guilty of this also, but i was hungry last night). please post more if we know a way to make the hot deal sweeter or if we find a better deal(like 99% of hot deal threads)

www.mwave.com is one of my favorite sites to buy, along with www.allstarshop.com. I actually bought a Radeon 32 MB DDR LE for only $88 shipped. I thought that the 2d image quality, the 32 bit performance, and the sub-$90 price was irresistible. But I just wanted to put a link to a great price for a voodoo 5 5500 from a reputable company. I ordered from www.newegg.com on Thursday night and it shipped the next day. So I guess that their service is pretty good, though they, along with a bunch of others on pricewatch.com have been somewhat misleading about the Radeon DDR LE. Unless you don't know, or can't tweak your registry, this card is a great deal because it is essentially the same thing as the retail board except for the passive heatsink, lower clock/memory speed, direct3d hyper-z disabled. (However, Powerstrip and registry tweaks can fix this very easily).

I have had the pleasure of owning the vodoo 5500 agp, gforce hercules ultra, 3d anihilaor ultra, gladiac ultra, gladiac gts, innod 3d geforce mx 32, and asus v7100 geforce mx 32mb, Out of all these cards the vodoo was 4th. I liked it because of how solid games ran on this card. always 100 fps strong. Of course the graphics were kinda choppy around the edges, but never the less alwayz dependable

voodoo5 owns tho , it has 64mb worth of ram, comapre to 32 ddr..
