Vodka and beer have an indefinite shelf life, right?

I'm pretty sure vodka holds, but does beer need to be refrigerated? How long does it last at room temperature before the taste changes?

with beer ive found that it depends more on the temperature than the age. ive had beer sit in the fridge for a month before that were fine tasting, always kept cold. when its been cold, then warm, and then chilled again, it had a skunky taste, even a few days from purchase.

Theres this amazing invention called a refridgerator. I highly recommend you invest in one.

Depends on how much you buy.

I've seen a six-pack go bad in a couple of hours.

Alcohol freezes at a much lower temperature than water so anything that's 40%+ should stay liquid in the freezer.

It has a much lower freezing point than water. A freezing point below which your common freezer will reach.

i found that obvious, should have asked: what makes its freezing point so much lower. d'oh.

beer definately gets old if left at room temperature. I just finished a microbrew that was skunky. Luckily, it was my 5th beer so it did not taste as bad ;)

dipole-dipole forces, London forces, and strong hydrogen bonding interactions

Once during college me and a friend put some beer into the freezer to get them cold quickly. We forgot to take them out.
We later found the beer froze and decide to thaw them out in the microwave........... Word of advice, if you ever freeze beer,
never re-heat them. Holy crap that was some nasty ass filth!! There were still chunks of ice, and what melted was hot.
disgusting. Just plain horrible. Even back in my heavy drinking days when I would drink anything regardless of how it tasted as
long as it got me drunk, I could not drink this basardized brew.

Well, it doesn't, but I'm sure you were joking. But, hey, here's an interesting tidbit: Veterinarians often use very high-proof vodkas (esp. Everclear) on dogs that have drunk antifreeze.

Okay, maybe it wasn't interesting. I just wanted to post something.
