Yeah so I paid their $25 application fee, and thank gawd it ended there. It took me a while to get my high school transcripts because I graduated from high school almost 15 years ago. But once I got those things started rolling and was looking good for me to get in. I went to an education testing place and took the tests that the school requires and scored high enough to get into almost any class they offered bar 1. On that last one I was border line, missed it by 2 points on reading comprehension.

So anyways after getting all financial aid set up I get a call from them. They got word that almost 5 years ago I had a DUI. They wanted the court disposition papers. n/p, I send it to them. Then I get another call, they wanted my records of my alcohol assessment as ordered in the DUI disposition. I supply that as well. However on that disposition it said to follow any treatment that place recommended. At the end of that assessment it said on there they wanted me to go for in-house alcohol treatment.

However I was never notified by them. At the end of the assessment the person giving it said I will contact you if we determine you need treatment. I never got contacted... they had all my contact information. In fact the person who gave the assessment was a regular at the place I worked. I seen him at least 30 times in the next 45 days following my assessment and he never said a single thing to me other than hello and the jokes he likes to tell.

So now fast forward near 5 years later. I go back to that place, and ask if I can take their plan that they had recommended. I was told no. They do it on basis of legal matters first, then open patients. My legal time frame to complete that plan expired nearly 3 years ago. So I can not take it. Then I get another assessment done to go in for open, they determine I do not need any treatment.

I give Avtec a call back regarding the news, and they deny me admission because I have to complete what was first recommended. I explain to the admission person that that is no long possible. Her answer remained the same. You have to complete what was court ordered which was to follow their recommendation. Till then, you can not be admitted.

Avtec is a total waste of time imho. Stupidly stiff headed. Oh well, there are others out there. But until the 2009/2010 school year, I can not go in for further education unless I am able to secure $8K from now till august for the 2008/2009 year which was going to be provided by the federal government and other sources.

It is flat out depressing... lol.
<-- Unwillingly unemployed since early 2005 :(
Been making computers or selling upgrades for people as my only source of income since 2005. I am not eligible for unemployment as my last job was not in a 1 1/2 year timeframe. Got a skin disorder preventing me from working in food/healthcare places (including a lowbie grocery stocker or a bartender). While I did have a drivers license, child support suspended it in late 2005. That crossed out most other jobs that do not require training or education. Finally got help to get me through school, only to be denied because of some stupid ass policy. Makes me want to spend the rest of my life drinking in the alleyways.
