EDIT: Separating Afrikaans from Dutch is rather like separating Australian from British or American. Granted there are some significant differences between Afrikaans and Dutch, but Afrikaans originated as a corruption of the Dutch language during Dutch colonization of Southern Africa.

Afrikaans and Dutch are similar enough than any non-speaker could confuse them. Either way, it doesn't prove anything related to your intellect.

2) Swak = slang for "that's wack"
3) Chommie = Chummy
4) Boet = Bet
5) Kous = Short for Kous kous (i know that's not how you spell it)
6) Kombuis = Combat
7) Ou = Where
8) Hoekom = Hakeem (as in Olajuwan)
9) Lekker = Lick her
10) Ja = means "Yes" in German
11) Veld = to weld
