hi all,
noop on this foruma and a bit of a noob to amd 64 393 pin. so i got all my new comp stuff today and went to set it all up.....
only to find that there are no jumpers to set up...
is it all auto setting till i get into the bios and 'tweak' them?

so i take it i just plug it all together and power 'er up?

what is odd is the wording in the manual early on

"2-1 PC D.I.Y. Assembly Instructions
1. Jumper Setting:
Set the CPU External Clock, Frequency Ratio and the CPU voltage according to the
instruction printed on the manual or silkscreen printed on the mainboard."

what jumpers....i cant find them...other than the usb on/off stuff (actually thats cool)???
so what am i doing wrong?
i want to make sure i have it set up right before powering up.

thanks alot, and from searching this forum there is alot of awesome stuff and info really help later on with all teh fun stuff

if my sig did not work amd 64 3000, vnf4 ultra ve, 1g, ati x800 xl

As long as you're not going to use RAID, just snap your VNF4 together and away you go. It pays to run Memtest86 on any new system, of course. The VNF4 will even run fine on the default XP drivers.

However, the NF4 based machines all seem to work differently as far as nVidia's drivers go. Your NF4 based board may have problems and your friend's identical NF4 based board may work fine with very similar peripherals. Visit the nVidia mobo forum if you run into peculiar "issues", anything from internet access dropping out to corrupted hard disk to BSODs is possible, see:

The recent 6.53 release from nVidia doesn't seem to have done much to reduce the problems reported on their mobo forum.
