VNF3-250, Temperature Readings and SpeedFan - Help!

Okay. Here's my newest dilemma.

I read about temperature reporting issues on the Chaintech VNF3-250, so I downloaded the latest BIOS to correct it. Prior to the flash, the CPU temp was an astoundingly incorrect 8 degrees Celsius. Afterward, it is reading a more reasonable 40 degrees Celsius. The system temp is 37. I think an additional 120mm fan in the back of the case would only help, but overall that's not too terrible.

Now, I want to get this information in Windows and not just in my BIOS settings, so I downloaded SpeedFan to act as a monitor. Here's what it tells me:

Temp1: 40C
Temp2: 37C
HD0: 36C
Temp3: 127C :Q

What?!? Something in my case is clocking in at 270 degrees Fahrenheit? That can't be.

So tell me. Is there a mystery hotspot that I might be missing or is SpeedFan reading from a sensor gone bad or is Speedfan just ... well ... cracked out?!?

There is something giving a bad reading on all the boards. Mine does the same thing with Sandra Info.

Well I also get crazy temperatures reading in Digidoc when I run it along with PC Wizard.

Dude, if something was actually 100+ celsius I think you'd be getting a fire extinguisher now =)
Those software monitoring software isn't very accurate sometimes; they are good for monitoring fluctuations though

Does any one know where I can find out what the default temperature settings should be on my PC. I have an Elite K7SEM, winXP 1.1Gig Duron 160MB Hd, 512 SD Ram

I just changed my chip fan.

Hope I did this right in my posting. I was a member of the tech tv and always posted my questions there. But as of this last week. They closed up.

I couldn't get MBM5 to read from my VNF3-250 correctly, even after the bios update.

Schnieds do you mind telling me what your settings are.

Yeah, it's funny to watch Sandra on default settings freak out when I tried to run 'Burn in'.

"No WAY, dude your board's waaaaaay too hot" & stops running.
