Hello,

Just curious if others experience this with their VNF3-250:

When I make a change in the bios, and "save and exit" to save my changes, sometimes my systems reboots (as expected) other times it *shutsdown*. Anyone see this problem...or just me?

Thanks,
DJM

I have seen that happen once. Couldn't figure out what made it do that. Rock solid board though.

Hello Agamar,

This happens to me often -- maybr 50% of the time I make bios changes. Also, get this, let's say I install some software which requires a reboot, my system does not reboot but shuts off! I am pretty well convinced I have a bad boards...I have already got an RMA number, just waiting (and testing) while the new board is in transit.

I have tried swapping these components, trying to solve my crashing problem:

power supply
RAM
hard drive
CD-ROM drives
cables
removed sound card (audigy2)

No matter what I try the system straigt out shuts off during 3dmark, games, and sometimes just when surfing...we shall see what happens when the new board arrives.

I have not seen this rebooting problem on my board (from Windows re-start or bios Save& Exit)

Hey!

Received the new vnf3-250 today...already put together, flashed to the beta bios, and everything is running great! So, it was a bad board afterall!

Very happy now!

Cheers,

That's good to hear! Sorry you had to deal with the frustration of a bad board to begin with.

I'm liking mine an aweful lot.

Hey FTU,

I am diggin' my vnf3-250 as well -- it was cheap and I actually like the fact that is a somewhat "stripped" down board...I do not need all the extra "featues" such as a "high-end" on-board sound solution that still suck compared to an Audigy2, or additional SATA ports on the PCI bus. I played the Painkiller demo last night @1280x1024 with all high details and it was AWESOME! One heck of a step up from my Athlon 1333/gf3-500!

Cheers!
