VNF3-250 owers...another problem....ACPI related?

So, here's the deal:

Got the system up and running -- runs fast, able to xfer large amount of data over my LAN and to/from multiple drives...all is stable.

So, I installed Painkiller Demo -- about 5 seconds after the first level loads, the sytems just shuts OFF, not reboot, but shuts off!

So, this reminds me of the days when ACPI with Win2k was problematic...I figured this was solved with XP though, and installed my XP with ACPI support.

So, how about you other vnf3-250 owners...did you install with ACPI enabled?

Any ideas my the system would shut off after just starting a game? IRQ issues???

Thanks,
Dominic

Hello,

Yes, it is 100% repeatable. Also, if I run 3dmark2001 or Call of Duty the system will shutdown. 3dmark shuts downs after a few minutes (2-4) Call of Duty shus down at the Main Menu screen.

I am going to try another power supply and see what happens...

Thanks

Here's another odd behaviour:

This is not 100% consistent, but does happen often...when I am installing WindowsXP and XP prepares to reboot, my system does not reboot, but rather turns off...

FWIW...

Sounds like the automatic temperature shutdown is going into effect. Check your bios and see what temp the sensor is set for, and turn it up one notch and try again. Could mean that your CPU H/S isn't making good contact.
