What kinds of ram are compatable with this board? Their site is blank when I try to find it, and I'd like to know if Mushkin PC3500 Level One ram will work fine. Is there some site that displays this?

I would think you would be fine since I am running Kingmax (ELCHEAPO) PC 3500 in it right now and have not had one blip since I settled in on a huge overclock. The NF3-250 was supposed to help out with memory compatability...I can't imagine you haven any problems with a name brand like that.

My friend has two sticks of Mushkin PC3200 Level One that are both 512MB. So, shortass, I Would suppose that 3500 would also work. Also, jhbball, like I just mentioned, he has two 512MB sticks of Mushkin in his.

I also have two sticks of 512 but it is not hyperX. Remember the abit board does not have a pci/agp lock and therefore overclocking is dicey at best

This Anandtech review of some new top shelf OCZ memory mentions problems with our board model and hynix chips (now that I reread your post, I see you are talking hyper x, not hynix chips. ) Either my dyslexia is acting up or I need stronger coffee...

Never mind.

It is an interesting read particularly cause they use a VNF3-250 for the AMD 64 tests of this memory.

Right now, I've got 512mb (2 x 256mb) of the good Kingston PC3200 ValueRam w/ the Hynix chips in my box and I've had no trouble at all. I've still got the stock heatsink that came w/ my AMD 64, so I haven't tried any overclocking yet. I've just installed the 64bit version of Mandrake Linux 10.0 and have been tinkering with that before messing w/ the overclock. (It installed with less problems than XP Pro, btw.)
