Are you wanting something to go out and scan the network to find VNC hosts?

Yep, scan my Ip ranges or search by user name
I've tried a couple but ones too simple, the other is too clunky

I don't think there is such a thing. If you can find out what port VNC server hosts with then you can just port scan...

If you use VNC for work, see if whoever's in charge will spring for Funk Proxy, it has a built in scanner and uses less resources than any variant of VNC I've used. Plus lots of other features not available with any one VNC version. It's a little pricey for home use though.

Yeah actually we use Proxy but version 3.09 which isn't working with the new machine video cards and we'd have to upgrade to V 4.0 but we aren't going to because it doesn't meet our new security requirements. So we have an RFP out but need something in the meantime. . . .

VNC Neighborhood or VNC Manager

I like to use Ultra VNC. It is based on RealVNC, features TightVNC cursor handling and encoding, almost all the special functionalities that can be found in eSVNC and Vdacc-VNC, file transfer, chat. I have way too much fun with it at work, watching my friends and messing with their input.
