vnc or remote desktop question

It's mostly network speed but the greater burden is on the source computer since it has to do image compression on the screen contents which is harder than image decompression which is done on the viewing computer.
 
The slowest computer would dertrmine the remote connection. It would work slower than the slowest computer one way or the other.

Id it is really does not matter to you whch is the remote computer, control the Slowest computer from the faster one.
