i have vnc installed on a remote computer. It is installed in service mode, and have it set to no authentication. So when i try to connect to it, it gives me a timeout. When i try to connect to the computer with remote desktop it works fine.

On the remote computer i am running windows xp and have made sure the firewall allows VNC. I'm not sure why i'm having this problem, and some expert help is needed. I've already tried resetting my router (do you think the firewall in the router would cause problems?

also my router uses 192.168.2.xxx addresses, do you think that the 2 would cause problems?

The 2 shouldn't be a problem (sounds like a Belkin router - I have one). Where are you trying to connect from? Outside the network or inside?

install the viewer on the machine you are trying to view and try to connect to "localhost", that should tell you of any problems with the program. Besides that, i'd try shutting of any software firewall.
